Fidget is the result of a short two week project. Fidget is a chair designed for educational environments with the aim of promoting movement within the student while sitting. The seat is held on a bowl like section on which it is free to move. This small allowance means that the chair can move with the student and will encourage movement. The intention is that the chair will reduce the health risks with sitting still for long periods of time. Especially with children, still growing, sitting still at school for long periods of time has potentially negative health risks. The aim of Fidget is to reduce this risk by promoting movement, essentially fidgeting. By moving with the student the chair can also reduce the strain associated with certain sitting positions.
