The Kug is a revolutionary new product in the world of making hot drinks. The Kug is a combination kettle mug. No longer have the hassle of interacting with a kettle. Boil water in your Kug to make a drink and bring it with you, then re-heat it or make a fresh drink without the need for a kettle. Great for bringing in the car, or using at work and avoiding the 'work kettle'. 

The Kug won the first Arthritis Ireland 'Easy-to-Use' Awards in association with Pfizer and NCAD. It received worldwide media attention and won the attention of multinational companies. The Kug is currently under development with a company to bring it to market. Expect to see one on the shelves soon.

The idea behind the Kug came from researching the problems people with arthritis suffer on a daily basis. We (myself and Alan Harrison) wanted to design a product that would address one of these problems but at the same time be desirable for everyone else. We recognised the area of making hot drinks as an area that people with arthritis have trouble with. Due to the frequency that people make hot drinks throughout the day we decided this was a major area to focus on and concluded that a solution here would have a significant impact on daily life.
